I am a “WORK-IN-PROGRESS”

Last night, I put a call to Feranmi, the lady my heart truly beats for.

The conversation all started well like a friendly match ending as a draw and within a split of seconds, the gear of our conversation was hijacked by arguments and it ended in tears.

She said I needed to work on myself; “she slapped me in the face”— she said I am rigid

It took me time to digest all she muttered

It was a phone conversation, probably if she was physically with me, I might have strangled her to death.

We hung off and I couldn't fight back tears— tears were endlessly flowing

At a point, I stopped and began to sense meaning to every word she muttered

Then I conclusively agreed that I am “a work-in-progress” and it is important to work on myself religiously to get better

“You begin to fall, the very moment you stopped working on yourself”

“A man who hates correction will be taken freely into the palace of destruction”

She didn't only spot out my weakness, she also opened my eyes to “mentorship and its rudiments”

We all need to understand, it is arduous to achieve our dreams all by ourselves, we all need someone to guide us through those processes

T D Jake emphatically said, in one of his powerful speeches, he said “the only thing that is wrong with your dream, is that you are trying to achieve it all by yourself”

I also stumbled on a powerful audio message this morning when I was having my quiet time. A message specially packaged by Bishop David Oyedepo, he said it is arrogance and pride that could make a man thinks he doesn't need someone to guide him through his journey

He added and that swept my feet off to the ground— he said.

If God could utter this; “let us make them in our image”

As powerful as God is, he didn't fail to recognize the substantial effects of people in making things happen

It is important to pray to God to open our eyes to the right set of people that have once worked in our shoes and will be capable to guide us through the right paths in life

If truly you desire to grow rightly…

If truly you desire to grow spiritually, morally, academically, and in another sphere of life, it is important to take the issue of mentorship to heart but don't be desperate

If truly our dreams are bigger than us, we must be ready to do “the right things, even if it is the hardest thing”

Having a mentor is having someone who sees more than we do and is ready to advise us on the right way to approach the complexities of life

As earlier stated, we shouldn't be desperate in choosing a mentor but it is important to be intellectually & spiritually conscious as we thirst on in life dealings

Mentorship paves a better platform for achieving what is individually impossible

Mentorship sets out a platform to be inspired & motivated to get things done supersonically

*just like a baby, who helplessly depends on his parents' instructions, from the stage of crawling, sitting, standing, walking, jumping and running; in such an instance, we must be ready to swallow our pride and humbly submit our minds to the seasoned teachings and coordinated guidance of our mentors, if we truly crave to grow properly, not to grow in error

If we truly crave to grow righteously, morally and other phases, we must write these on the tablets of our hearts

Work & pray for a good mentor &be ready to be a humble mentee

I love you and I see God helping us
