A PERFECT REWARDER


I was on duty, duty to bring life to the world, a young baby boy was brought to the world through me, a certified medical doctor who has just spent 6 years in service as a medical practitioner

It's like I brought a radiant smile on the faces of people when that beautiful bouncing baby boy was delivered to the world through me, a certified medical doctor and Nurse Titilope

I must confess, I was super excited when songs of praises were offered to me, straight to the high heavens, I felt like I made heaven

You know that kind of praises that could render you speechless

As I was walking majestically to my office,  I heard my phone ringing on my table, then I went straight to pick it up, only to see 25 missed calls on my phone, all the missed calls were all from my wife and I was wondering what could have happened

I was already vibrating in fear like Nokia 3310, now I needed to summon the courage and put a call straight to my adorable wife whose pregnancy is just 5 months old

I picked up my phone and called, to my amazement, I heard a frog-like voice beating out on my wife's phone and I checked the number again, maybe I dialed wrongly, honestly, I didn't, I confirmed that after dialing again

 I said while shaking, ogbeni give the phone to the owner

Guess what, he shut me off by saying my wife has been crushed down by an old model Toyota Jeep and she has been rushed to life gate hospital.

He added that my presence is highly needed before they can go on with the operation


I must be there right away

Remember through me, life was just brought to the world, now the soul of an adorable queen is gradually slipping away into the arms of the dead and of course, I didn't forget she carries a life

I just finished putting a radiant glowing smile on the faces of people and now my smiling face is suddenly welcoming a flow of water gushing out from the socket of my eyes

Recklessly I drove out from the hospital premises, everyone around was thinking I must have run mad

I nearly forget to tell you, that pregnancy was our first fruit of the womb after patiently trusting God for solid 15 years


A battle was going through my mind, I can't bear the pain of losing my wife, even If I lose the baby, I said

Changing my uniform is a dream that can never come to reality, of course, I know I needed to be on the run, on the chase to hunt the soul of my adorable queen that is gradually slipping through my fingers

Guess what I did, jumped out from the office with my car keys firmly held to my hands

I couldn't keep calm, I landed straight to my car and drove like a thief that is being chased by the police

Where would I start? There was a voice telling me to be strong and another one was showing me the shadow of my adorable queen helplessly walking through the entrance of life gate of heaven and couldn't be stopped on her way by anyone

Finally, I reached a  gate hospital

The entrance was bleeding unbearable  heat, I felt like the soul of my wife was escaping through the entrance of the lift gate and I needed to stop that dream from coming into reality

How I wish I have one kind of magic that could make me disappear to the ward 6, I was reliably told by that man that called me, as he said that the soul of my adorable wife is lying flat in ward 6

I eventually reached taken ward 6, there I saw the helpless body of my beautiful wife placed under the guidance of a life-saving machine, possibly to stop her soul from escaping to the land of the dead

I was called in, to Doctor Michael's office, where he told me, the 5 months old baby has undergone unbearable stress and needed to be evacuated from my wife's womb, if not it could as well result to the death of your my wife

This time I became very dumbfounded, looking like a 6 years old boy who lost his way

He passed me the medical agreement form, requesting for my permission, in order to be able to carry out the operation through the evidence of my signature

What would I do? I know I have lost one & can't stand losing my world

With tears mixed with sweats on my face, I was shaking while appending my signature on the form passed to me by the doctor

Some hours ago, I succeeded in putting a radiant smile on people's faces but it's a pity that I failed woefully in putting a radiant smile on my own world

To God be the glory, the operation went well

After placing her under close watch for 3 weeks, she was eventually discharged from life gate hospital

A year after, miracles busted on our doorsteps, she became pregnant again and gave birth to triplets, two girls and a boy

Withered grass can still sprout green leaves, it's a matter of keep trying and keeps trusting God

God is never late, he is a perfect rewarder
