I FAIL YOU


Jide bounced out of the examination hall with an expression of joy radiating on his tired face

He was truly tired but his countenance  still expressed excitement

What a combo expression on his face!tired and excited simultaneously

Jide walked himself to a spot, believing he would meet his fiancee at their usual spot

He talked to himself, am sure, she is on her way, maybe she is not done with her paper

He didn't mind spending eternity on that spot, all he was bothered about was to see the extra configured specifications of his amazing fiancee, named Rachel

4 hours gone, the lover boy was still waiting

Jide adjusted his position, he walked around the beautifully crafted wooden design of a lion

He was yawning and stretching his body

Jide would have loved to call Rachel but he was not blessed with a phone

Evening was already stretching its arms into the night

He believed she can never fail him

Jide was expected to be called out of dreamland by Rachel, sad to say, he was called out of dreamland by the horrible sound of the mosquitoes that happily came to feed on his fresh skin

The mosquitoes succeeded in their mission, to bite and to leave some ugly spots on the human skins

And leave the bodies under the governance of malaria

I guess you called it stupidity on the path of Jide

You could possibly say, a stupid lover boy with no mission or vision for his life

Rachel failed Jide

Hey buddy, can you remember, the number of times we have failed God while trying to please ourselves?

Can you remember how the things of God have been seen as local things?

His will has always been considered as the last option

It's crazy and funny you know, you always take him seriously, that will be when problems of life come knocking

When things are doing fine, he wouldn't be remembered but will be forgotten

We are always on his mind but he is not always on our minds

He is only taken serious or considers when our sky is turning grey

Stop failing him...

It's crazy, you called for blessings after disobeying him before his very eyes

It's crazy you know, you seek for grace after you have successfully disgraced him in your closet

The fact is, he can not be disgraced

He called you his child but you are saying he is wrong


You know what is right but you still choose to do what is wrong

He is there waiting for you, just exactly as Jide was waiting for the return of his fiancee

Stop failing him!
