The Spirit Of A True Leader
Six years back, I have always been believing that leadership is all about intelligence and bravery until I came across a man named John, a professor and also hailed from Singapore
Maybe you are thinking, I will start striking out some qualities of a true leader, this time you have failed in your attempt, lol
Actually, I was just kidding😝😝😝
Of course, as a polytechnic graduate or university graduate, you must have learned some amazing concepts of leadership
I could remember too, in one of my old courses, titled "Leadership and Corporate Governance
I wouldn't fail to admit the fact that I learned a great deal of knowledge from that course
I wasn't just reading the book to pass, I was equipping myself with the needed skills
On a lighter note, as far I can remember when I was much younger, I did think leaders are those who wake up early in the morning, brushed their teeth, took a nice shower, stepped into a nice outfit, especially suits, matched designer shoes and carry their shoulders up, as they would walk straight down to their exotic cars
In this 21st century, I stand to be corrected, it's only a fool that will still have such a thought lingering on the surface of his or her heart
My encounter with Professor John didn't just teach me the core concepts of leadership, it didn't also fail to encourage me to be a true leader even in my small world
He expressly stated that, as charity begins
at home, that leadership is a concept that is as old as our forefathers and of course, it also begins at home
He jokingly stated leadership had long been in existence right from the formation of man
Let me bust your brain with these amazing facts, everyone born of God is a leader
Transparently speaking, there is a huge difference between a leader and a true leader
They are close but not the same
As a matter of fact, many have mistaken the word "bosses" as "leaders" and vice versa
Leadership is not about age, it is about abilities to lead others with vision as stated by Professor John from Singapore
He furtherly stated; leadership is not always about taking lead always, it is more about producing leaders
In other words, a leader who can not give birth to leaders is not qualified to be called a true leader
This got me when he said a leader could place himself as a bridge where his subordinates will cross
Leadership is not about commanding, it is about developing others into greatness
The course of leadership is not to lead, it is to serve his people
A true leader is not earned through qualifications, it is earned through character
A true leader is a selfless being, not a selfish person
A true leader is more concerned about the growth of people
A true leader smiles to the progress of his people, not to their downfall
Ask yourself, are the spirits dwelling inside of you?
Leadership is all about sacrifice, it is not an accumulation of wealth to oneself
Reasons why you can't be a true leader:
👉 A leader is a giver, if you are observed to be stingy, you are not close to venture into the course of a true leadership
👉 If your heart is not large to accommodate thrown flowers and thrown thorns
👉If you are always emotionally down or disconnected
👉If anger has built a duplex in your heart
👉 If you lack foresight
👉 If you are not disciplined in words and deeds, you just can't be a true leader
👉 If you can not be corrected by both young and old, forget it, you are still existing in the embryo
👉 If you lack visions
👉 If you are proud or arrogant
👉 if you lack integrity and bravery, your leading style can't break your people into liberty
Are you are a spirited true leader?
You can work things out, if you lack all or any
With consciousness, determination, and commitment, you can be a true leader the whole world will be remembered for good deeds till the end of time
