IMMORALITY IN SCHOOLS

I tried all I could to keep quiet on this but my conscience ness wouldn't allow me to let sleeping dogs quietly keep on resting

Of course, immoral practices in higher institutions is not a fresh file on the table of Nigerians

And also immoral practices in Secondary schools are no longer a new thing

Cases of immoralities I have seen are beyond what I could capture on a single file

Please, quickly permit me to make a brief introduction of myself

My name is Gift and I am an undergraduate student, schooling in Ajayi Crowther University

On a nutshell, we had a semester break, which normally takes up to 2 months before it is over

Being idle at home was one of the things I wouldn't keep my fingers crossed on, I hate that just like the way I hate fake pastors

So, I decided to assist one of my elder sisters, who is running  Nursery and Primary school, which was very close to our house, at least to keep myself busy before I would go back to school

I was saddled with the responsibility of teaching the pupils in the Primary classes

On a more serious note, I love to teach, I have always been fervidly taken, when it comes to teaching

It saddens my heart, each time I look at the way, Nigeria government keeps on murdering education sector and keep on squandering the fund meant for the growth of the economy

This day, I had my pupils to take, it was early in the morning

I felt like a soldier who is completely armed with bullets inside his gun and a bulletproof attached to my body

I really wanted to deliver every word I had learned, I wanted them to capture and understand every word of my mouth, so I got to school as early as I could

I opened my class and entered

I sat down checking the time, I was more than ready to deliver

Here comes Felix, a primary school student, walking up to me and said Aunty, you are sexy today and my brother wouldn't mind having you as his girlfriend

I said Felix, what did you just say?

What really does he know about being sexy?

The statement he made actually matched my outfit

Sincerely, every part of my body was well covered and smart

Who thought him that word?

I sat there imagining, if that little boy could understand the meaning of being sexy at that virgin age, I wonder how many he would have known before he becomes fully matured

Felix was a representation of immortality in a school uniform.

It really looks like the bond of morality has been broken and replaced by immorality

Honestly, there is virtually nowhere to turn to, where immorality is not being practiced.

Porn everywhere, slowing down our inner man from having his full expression

Martins running to church, hoping he could be redeemed, on getting to church, he was disappointed and couldn't stop himself from sinning

It seems only a few will be saved

We are here yearning for safety, cos we are tired of running

The first is gradually becoming the last

The doctrines of the truth are gradually being replaced

The words of God are being twisted for the virgin minds

Pastors have turned to people's majesty, people's role models

The truth falls on the ground and people walk away like it makes no sound and immorality comes and it becomes the order of the day

There is absolutely no mixed feelings between morality and immorality

It is just like black and white

Moral values should be protected and inculcated into our lives, it is part of the principles that guide the concept of freedom

Freedom without moral values is termed as Abused Freedom

Even if moral values look local to others, go for it

The force of vogue shouldn't change our moral principles

Be morally disciplined in words, dress, and deeds

Most Importantly, let us do all we can do, to train our children and every kids around us...
