Hunger For Knowledge

Ayanfe left his delicious meal on the table uneaten, in preparation for his exam, he was severally persuaded by his friend, Wuraola to try and eat little out of his food, still, he refused to eat

He was busy reading, chewing and biting every page of ARCH 213, a course titled “HISTORY OF ARCHITECTURE”

All his friends were surprised to have seen him in such an unusual state

Beyond doubt, Ayanfe was an intelligent guy, as a matter of fact, his friends usually call him a paragon of excellence

In spite of being the quick-witted guy, he still denied himself the satisfaction of taking his delicious meal, maybe he was not hungry or he was hungrier for knowledge

He denied himself the delectation of chatting all day, he was seen burying his mind and brain inside the capable arms of knowledge

It wasn't easy, there was no light in the hostel, so he steered his feet out to purchase a full pack of candles, his results have always been an outstanding one


At a point, he became very tired, he stood up, possibly to catch up a new gunt of energy



Of course, Ayanfe was not just studying to pass, he was doing that to secure a premium seat for himself in the future

I equally remember a very insightful book I bought, written by Sam Adeyemi, “ Success is who you are”


He quoted “If you are not informed, you will be deformed”


Knowledge is simply information put into action and if you don't read or study, you don't have it, no magic about it

My submission— knowledge gets you a seat, even when it looks like the whole seat is occupied

Knowledge is what you search for, not what you wish for, possessing knowledge goes beyond wishing, it is about acting


Applied knowledge is success recorded


You want to get to the top, then book a prominent seat with knowledge

The man with knowledge is often called “the smart one”

This brought me back to secondary school days, Ajayi David, that was his name, he was the most intelligent guy in our class, we normally called him Efiko

What got him the edge? No other thing than Information

His name still rings loud in my head, knowledge carriers need no introduction, they are easily spotted anywhere they maybe

True knowledge can not be bribed with money, it is what you bought with your sweat


Knowledge is information applied, transparently quoted“to be informed, is to be transformed and to be uninformed as to be deformed


Knowledge applied brings obviously huge  transformation, it makes you stand out differently, it makes you think differently and makes you think before acting

I quote here“the true knowledge you have inside, is mostly the true reflection of what you display outside


Earlier stated, true knowledge applied brings obviously huge transformation, it makes you do, what you have never done before  and makes you think before you act


True knowledge questions your personality, you can't have true knowledge and still not transformed

If your personality is not often questioned, that means one thing; you lack true knowledge

Then what do you have inside of you?

The assumption of the world


People's notions and ideas are easily accepted by you without passing through the channel of verification

True knowledge births a verification device, that scans and verifies everything that is transmitted

It is impossible to give what you don't have

You could be pushed to a prominent position but without updated knowledge, such a person won't function as expected

Knowledgable people are often seen as prestigiously proud people

You can't be called a myopic person, if you crave for true knowledge

True knowledge is not anywhere but it is everywhere

You don't have it if you don't read

You can't have it if you don't study

You can't have it if you cherish chatting more than studying

You can't have it if you are not disciplined

You can't have it if you don't love it

You can't truly have it if you are not flexible, meticulous and fastidious

If you crave for knowledge, you read books, browse for information and not just chatting unnecessarily

Knowledge sets you thinking so that you won't be stinking and sinking

Knowledge matures boys into men, so not all men are matured

Knowledge is a true discovery of who you are, that is if you search for it

Having true knowledge is more than who you are on a certificate, it is who you are on the outside

Meaning that you could be a graduate on paper and not close to one intellectually

You could pass through school and still refused to be transformed by the heat of education

If the submission of who you are can only be expressed on paper

To be successful, you will do more than praying

To be distinct, you need to be loaded with instincts


To be transformed, you need to be informed

So I urge you, to draw a dutiful time table and adhere to it

What you would become is a daily reflection of your accumulated activities per time


You are far from becoming what you don't practice

You want to become a singer, read about singers, that is a knowledge-driven exercise

Don't just wish for something, start expressing your wishes in actions

Update yourself with knowledge, if it doesn't speak for you today, it will certainly speak for you one day


What you have inside will give you more edge on the field, when you have it


Prepare for the future, stop chatting, start studying!

You are a lady, I know you are beautiful, please baby, preach more than your beauty


Preferably go for a course or learn something, am sorry to say, your beauty won't sustain you for ages, no matter how you try to keep it intact

Be hungry for knowledge, anywhere you can find it

Choices to read, study and rehearse when things were hard

It's simple, the amount of your input determines your output

It's good to wish, don't just wish, act your wish!

It's good to pray, don't just pray, act your prayer


Knowledge on how you can get better, knowledge on your skills & so on


The dreamer and the achiever have one thing in common, they both have wishes

The achiever goes beyond dreaming, which is acting



To be great outside, you first need to be great inside

Don't be a colossal embarrassment of position like Buhari

What do you desire to be?

Look yourself in the mirror, and make some positive confessions

Grab a book, practice something on your line of duty

Don't turn to Lilly-hearted women disgracing womanhood on Instagram and Whatsapp

Join a cohort of stars in the making

Learning is forever, it never stops

Let's grow old together with updated information, not growing old with outdated information

You want to become a star, start acting like one...

Pray as if you have never prayed before

Read and study as if you have never studied before

Be hungry for knowledge
