The Price Of a Victorious Hustler
I smiled at my examination paper when I knew I had really given what it would take to defeat failure and hold success to my side
I have once adhered to my father's school of thought which states that " Education is all that is needed to reach the tunnel of destiny
I lived on with this outdated mentality for good 15 years
Fortunately for me, I bagged out Success, I was very proud of myself, holding on to the fact that I would soon become a billionaire, you know that great feelings🤪
I said it is impossible for me to be rejected with my result that speaks miracles
So I entered the labor market with my father's old damn school of thought
There in the labor market, I saw an array of stars on certificates begging for the position of a messenger
It felt like I was dreaming when I saw certificates flying aimlessly around the four corners of the labor market
It's impossible for me to forget the day I was humiliated by my fiancee who looked straight into my eyes and said, oh boy, no be certificates we go eat, u better go and hustle like nobody
It felt like a part of me suddenly traveled to the underworld
Jokes apart, to be relevant in this competitive world, many of us got to drop our certificates and hustle like nobody in order to be somebody in life
The key to prosperity is not in the hands of the elites, it is in the hands of those who trampled their pride on the floor and go for what they desire
The hustle is damn real, I am a living testimony of such
My eyes caught rainbows when I saw Folusho, a friend of mine who bagged out first class, back then in school
To my surprise, I saw him packaging water inside bottles of different types
Guess what he was doing?
He was busy hawking inside the scorching sun because he needed to survive
I thought I have seen it all when I saw Mr. Saka, a man who is old enough to be my father, hawking Gala during the day and working as a hunter in the ungodly hours of the night, exposing his chest to cold and danger, while others of his age have already rested their heads on the beds, what an unbalanced life
There I go again, I saw Mr. Francis, a man whose complexion preaches handsomeness
Guess where I saw him, I saw him shouting Iyana opaja, Iyana opaja with a lot of enthusiasm displaying on his figure, enter with your change, shotiye ee, he said
Right there, I was wrestling with my mind, how could that handsome guy take up such a dirty job?
Many couldn't swallow their pride and take up a job for the moment
And that explains the reasons many will remain poor till the end of time
One of the charming qualities of a victorious hustler is the ability to swallow their pride and go for the money
I wouldn't fail to appreciate the importance of education but the truth needs to be stressed, being an educated fellow shouldn't get into your brain
It should rather give you the strength to see beyond the nose, run beyond the target and go beyond the standard
Education comes to liberate the life of a man, it didn't come to raise the shoulders of a man
Becoming victorious as a hustler has gone beyond what one read or studied in school
It is more about your ability to get things done out there and put food on the table
No one cares for what you read, what everyone wants to see is the results of your labor
Time becomes more dangerous if it is spent doing nothing reasonable
Are you a graduate or an undergraduate?
Still searching for a job but you couldn't get yourself one?
If you can't get yourself one, look within your self, there you will find a skill or not, try and nurture it
Or take a job that, even if is lower to your educational profile
Take it up with joy, opportunities will fall into your path on the way
Don't just sit down complaining you can't get a job, create yourself one, even if is small
For every reigning champion to outer, had once experienced several moments of training
There is a price to be paid for every goods
The price of a victorious hustler is not in what he has known, it is in his hunger to know more
Go out, meet people, learn more, create and through it all, swallow your pride
